Alice in Wonderland??
This was for my BFFs birthday. She loves Alice in Wonderland and she loves quirky things. Her birthday was Nov 1 but the celebration was last night. So much fun going to Chuy's.
So, about the canvas...it was a painting I found on line and copied (4 times). you cannot see it in the pic, but it is layered and foam tape is behind each layer. the first being the whole pic, then Alice and the bottle, then Alice, and then just Alice's face. I thought the whole idea was cool since her birthday is the day after Halloween which is called Day of the Dead. Alice has the Day of the Dead look about her....so any way, "Life what is it but a dream" is the last verse in the poem Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, which of course is the original works of Alice in Wonderland. To the left you will see small mirrors which represent the looking glass. On the right there is the crown from the Queen of Hearts and the golden key that got poor Alice into some tight places. (LOL) The whole thing was done on 9x12 canvas.

Busy, busy, busy for BY DESIGN
Perspective...Life is kind of funny....yes it is! This is dear, sweet Makael. I was unable to get good pictures of these layouts. Usually I take them with good sunlight...no so. Lots of rain here and no sunshine.
Yes, this is my (oldest) little prince (Christian) when he was 15 months old. I had a photo copy of the original and cut out the image and backed it with cardstock, then I used my photo tinting pens to color his clothes. The crown is from Buzz and Bloom. I was originally clear acrylic. I used Tim Holtz alcohol metallic gold ink on the back and some rhinestones and stickles on the front. Sometimes stickles can be a bad thing! See that lion on the bottom???? Should have left the stickles alone! You know sometimes you are looking for that perfect flower for your layout, and there's not one in your stash? Well I found this one on the Pink Paisley blog. I did not use a rubberband like they did, instead I used embroidery floss to tie it off. Rubberbands deteriorate over time.
Trying to channel my friend Kristen. Her pages are always so funky and cool...I didn't even come close...but still something different and challenging for me. This IS a picture of me from 1992. The night Patrick and I got engaged. Look at all that hair...YIKES!!!! But hey, they bigger the hair the closer to God, right?

Just Dessert
I spent last weekend in Galveston with all my scrapbooking buddies. Sunday morning before we all left we did a round robin with plates. A great idea I got from Timi at By Design. This 1st one was done by me for the owner of The Red Victorian. This was a pass the plate idea...we just passed the plate around and everyone added a little something vintage. When it got back to me I went to work on getting it done before she went to bed. I got the pictures from the owners computer....with her permission. She just assumed I wanted them for my own. I printed them in sepia tone to be more cohesive. Kim, the owner, has put her heart and soul into restoring this 1860's Victorian home and is doing an amazing job! Oh, she has the most amazing Alaskan Husky named Cherokee. That's a lot coming from me...not much into dogs. BTW...she loved the plate...I think it really choked her up...especially the small letters that say, "the house that Kim built".
Maria's plate....loved this! So colorful and fun!!!

Terri's plate...her and DH on their 10th wedding anniversary.

Star Wars Canvas
full canvas...flash off
full view of canvas flash on...see the sparkles
8x10 canvas...I just love the "who's your daddy" sticker
4x8 canvas
8x8 canvas
4x8 canvas
Sooo....I got this really cool Star Wars themed paper, chipboard and stickers...no brads because apparently the discontinued them...so sad. Anyway...Ethan's bedding is Star Wars and I decided to make him some wall art. I have many canvases so I thought that I would make this cute little individual canvas pieces....turned out pretty cute! But then I thought that I would really like it to be one piece of art....soooo....I painted a 16x20 piece of canvas black and sprinkled it with Prisma glitter (kinda like the Milky Way but not really because this is another galaxy far far away) while the paint was still wet. Then I used some silver paint and just splattered the canvas with it to give a stars and orbit feel to it....okay, I put that by a fan to dry and said to myself, "self, you need to use some homemade glimmer mist just to add that little Queen of Bling touch"
So, I listened to self and spritzed the whole canvas in gold.
Next it was on to adding the smaller canvases to the large one...now where did I put that super tacky pink tape...not to be found....so, I had this super industrial, super strong, heavy duty adhesive....worked! This will never fall apart!!!!!
